Job summary

Randstad Construction & Property seeks a Sr. Formulation Technician in Swindon for a 12-month replacement contract. The role is onsite with a 42-hour week and a 24/7 shift pattern (12-hour days/nights). Start ASAP, base pay £14.55 per hour with a 40% shift allowance.

Primary duties include manufacturing setup, cleanroom operations, CIP/SIP testing, documentation, and project validation support. Eligibility to work in the UK required.

Qualifications

• Maths GCSE or basic numeracy evidence required.
• English GCSE or basic literacy evidence required.
• Basic IT skills (MS Office and Internet) essential.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate bulk manufacturing skids and compounding systems.
• Work within Grade C/D cleanroom environments and use related equipment.
• Prepare, test, and set up CIP, SIP, and related tests using controlled systems.
• Maintain Right First Time documentation and report non-conformances.
• Support equipment start-up, changeovers, and basic maintenance.
• Obtain and maintain Bronze badge access.

Sr. Formulation Technician

Location: Swindon Kingfisher Drive (Onsite)

Duration: 12 months (Replacement)

Start Date: ASAP

Compensation & Hours

• Base Pay Rate: £14.55 / hour
• Shift Allowance: Base rate + 40% shift allowance
• AWD/AWR Salary Equivalent: £28,372
• Average Hours per Week: 42.00 hours
• Shift Pattern: 24/7 Shift with 12-hour day and night shifts (07:00 to 19:00 / 19:00 to 07:00)Week 1: 2 shifts (Wednesday & Thursday)
• Week 2: 5 shifts (Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday)
• Overtime: Available once trained (not mandatory)

Key Responsibilities

• Manufacturing & Compounding: Set up and operate bulk manufacturing skids, small/large scale compounding systems, and bespoke vessel systems according to SOPs and batch manufacturing records.
• Cleanroom Operations: Operate within Grade C/D cleanroom environments, including airlocks, autoclaves, and automated cleaning systems.
• Sterilisation & Testing: Prepare, test, and set up modules for Clean In Place (CIP), Steam In Place (SIP), Filter Integrity testing, Pressure Tests, Autoclaving, and cleanroom cleaning using HMI controlled systems.
• Compliance & Quality: Maintain "Right First Time" documentation in accordance with cGMP standards; communicate non-conformance issues to supervisors/QA.
• Maintenance & Operations: Support equipment start-up, changeovers, basic equipment maintenance, and project validation work for new product introduction.
• Access Level: Acquire and maintain a Bronze license Badge access.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Maths GCSE (Grade C or above) or basic numeracy evidence (Essential)
• English GCSE (Grade C or above) or basic literacy evidence (Essential)
• Technical Skills: Basic IT skills (MS Office and Internet).
• Experience: Previous manufacturing environment experience is desirable.
• Soft Skills: Attention to detail, ability to follow verbal/written instructions, strong focus on repetitive tasks, methodical approach, patient-first quality mindset, physical fitness, and dexterity.

Interview & On-boarding Details

• Interview Format: Stage 1 Onsite interview consisting of questions and a competency Maths test.
• Background Check: Standard.
• Gowning / PPE: PPE is provided by client. Requires gowning into the CNC area and potentially Grade C, requiring arrival at least 15 minutes prior to shift (and same in reverse).
