Position Purpose:
The Sr. Flooring Inside Sales Specialist (Remote) plays a critical role in driving sales and is responsible for providing tailored suggestions and solutions through consultative selling and visual merchandising presentations that inspire our customers. Additionally, this role is responsible for building and nurturing high-value relationships with our customers to ensure satisfaction at every touchpoint of the customer journey. This remote position on the Virtual Apron team requires an experienced sales professional with in-depth knowledge of products or services as well as the ability to manage a pipeline of leads and exceed sales targets.
Sr. Flooring Inside Sales Specialists engage with customers, stores, and service providers via phone, email, and other communication vehicles to drive sales. The ideal candidate will have prior experience and knowledge in hard surface flooring sales, be familiar with customer management platforms such as Salesforce, OrderUp, or similar tools, demonstrate a strong customer-focused approach, possess excellent communication skills, and have the ability to effectively overcome sales objections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service (30%) - Build and nurture high-value relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor and ensuring satisfaction at every touchpoint of the customer journey.
- Drive Sales (30%) - Through lead generation and prospecting. Proactively identify potential clients through cold calling, networking, referrals, and other sales tactics. Qualify leads and nurture them through the sales funnel. Lead the entire sales cycle from inspiration to installation, including pre-purchase assortment and post-sale installation. Exceed sales targets by employing a proactive, entrepreneurial approach to identify emerging market trends, customer challenges, and opportunities for competitive differentiation.
- Support - Problem Resolution (30%) - Analyze and map the customer journey to identify pain points and opportunities, delivering tailored solutions that address customers' needs and drive long-term value.
- Other (10%) - Perform other duties as required by management.

Travel Requirements:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunities to move about. Rarely, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
This position is fully remote, working from a home environment. Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of consultative sales experience
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms
- Previous experience with hard surface flooring products and sales
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong negotiation, complaint handling, and dispute resolution skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of Tableau
- Familiarity with presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint)
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED (minimum)
- 2+ years of relevant work experience (minimum), 3+ preferred
