Sr. FinOps Analyst - AR, Transportation Collections

Would you like the opportunity to use your cash application expertise to help drive Amazon’s flywheel? Do you want to be involved in creating new global cash application processes, finding creative solutions to cash application issues leveraging technology, process improvement, change management and more?

The Global Accounts Receivable (GAR) team is seeking a passionate and energetic Cash Application Analyst to help achieve our vision to provide world-class Order-to-Cash (O2C) experience to our internal and external customers in support of Amazon’s journey to become earth’s most customer-centric company.

The typical day of a cash applicator involves posting payments from the lockbox, ACH, and wire transfer to customer accounts, troubleshooting issues and answering questions from internal & external stakeholders, resolving unidentified cash, analyzing root cause of cash application issues and working with cross functional teams, technology and banking partners to find scalable solutions.

Primary Responsibilities include:
  1. Post daily receipts (wires/ACH/checks) and credit/debit memos on a timely basis in order to ensure accurate maintenance of accounts receivable balances
  2. Contact customer, collections and business partners to obtain remittance details
  3. Perform daily and monthly lockbox reconciliation
  4. Timely investigating and resolving unidentified cash receipts, including working across organizations and teams, directly with banks and by contacting payers
  5. Identifying and resolving root causes of unidentified receipts
  6. Work with Accounting to implement and execute controls to ensure cash accounts are reconciled
  7. Support month end closing process
  8. Prepare, maintain and distribute daily, weekly and monthly reporting to Supervisor, and other stakeholders
  9. Author, catalog and maintain up to date SOPs, process documents and desktop procedures
  10. Advocate and drive adoption of cash application tools and support automation
  11. Conduct time studies and other efforts to measure the efficiency of the cash application operations, the impact of process and tools improvements and to provide feedback to floor managers, product and tech organizations
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in accounting and commerce (B. Com)
- Knowledge of Excel at an advanced level
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of finance operations/shared services, accounts payable, account receivable (collections) or general ledger experience
