Job description
Overview

Amazon is seeking Site Process Engineers to work in the EU Process Engineering (EU PE) team. The Site Process Engineer is an onsite position based in LBA5. The Site Process Engineer works alongside the FC Senior Leadership Team, with strong collaboration with EU PE functions. This role is responsible for deploying initiatives, building networking and relationships in the FC, and driving compliance for initiatives within assigned timelines. The Site Process Engineer initiates and implements EU-wide improvement activities and owns initiatives from understanding to delivery, translating to productivity and efficiency gains in the FC.

Responsibilities
  • Work on Back to Basics initiatives identifying the top opportunities in the FC compared with other EU FCs. Start from the bottom 50% of processes, identify input metrics with the biggest gap to Benchmark, and implement the improvement action plan in collaboration with local Operations Management using standard improvement templates.
    • Oversee the FC improvement program and focus on the most important areas based on alignment with the FC Senior Leadership team.
    • Analyze process performance using standard reports or own data analysis. Present findings in daily dive deep meetings and collect feedback from the local team to convert information into a tangible improvement plan.
    • Review open Action Plans weekly, engaging FC stakeholders to complete suggested actions and reach targets.
    • Collaborate with central PE functions and other Site PEs in the region to clarify process-related doubts and leverage domain expertise. Benchmarking initiatives are recommended to reduce variation across FCs.
  • Work on Continuous Improvement within the FC.
  • Drive network best practice implementation by coordinating local initiatives with local Operations and sharing them with EU PE for review. Approved best practices are added to the EU Best Practice repository to help top FCs reach Best In Class through Variation Reduction.
  • Strengthen the framework to capture and scale FC innovation. New ideas and projects flow through a standard process and are reviewed by ACES process SMEs.
  • Ensure big projects (e.g., 10M$+ WW savings) are uploaded to the OP1 Project Intake each year.
  • Own the deployment of EU network initiatives assigned to the FC, ensuring on-time execution and compliance. Support the FC to commit to tests and pilots for EU Projects to avoid delays and enable deployment and review across EU FCs.
  • Partnership with the FC Ops:
    • Join the daily Gemba on the floor with FC Leadership to stay aligned with top issues and associate feedback.
    • Organize the weekly LSC Meeting with FC Leadership updating on EU Variation Reduction, EU Projects rolled out, EU Best practices shared at EU level, and FC initiatives eligible for test/pilot.
    • Support the Site Leader and FC Senior Management Team to build trust and buy-in for initiatives. Typical ad hoc process tasks from the FC accounting for less than 10% of working time.
  • Be ready to support or lead EU Projects to expand the initial scope and coordinate more than one FC. This enhances project management skills and stakeholder engagement.
  • During Q4 you may be deployed to the site management operational team, based on building needs.
  • Ability to travel as needed within your area of responsibility. Domestic and regional travel estimated at 0-10% (subject to change based on business need).
