Job description
Overview

Amazon is seeking Site Process Engineers to work in the EU Process Engineering (EU PE) team. The Site Process Engineer is an onsite position and will be based in LBA5. The Site Process Engineer works alongside the FC Senior Leadership Team, with strong collaboration with EU PE functions. This role is responsible for deploying initiatives, building networks and relationships in the FC, and driving compliance for initiatives within an assigned timeline. The Site Process Engineer initiates and implements EU-wide improvement activities and demonstrates ownership for initiatives, understanding them in detail and influencing delivery to achieve productivity and efficiency gains in the FC.

Responsibilities
  • Work on Back to Basics initiatives identifying top opportunities in the FC compared with other EU FCs. Start from the bottom 50% processes, identify input metrics with the biggest gap to Benchmark, and implement the improvement action plan in close collaboration with the local Operations Management team following standard improvement templates.
  • Oversee the FC improvement program and focus on the most important areas based on alignment with the FC Senior Leadership team.
  • Dive deep into process performance using available standard reports or self-created data analysis; present findings in daily dive deep meetings and collect feedback from the local team to convert information into a tangible improvement plan that matters to the FC.
  • Review open Action Plans on a weekly basis, engaging FC stakeholders to complete suggested actions and reach targets.
  • Collaborate with central PE functions and other Site PEs from the region to clarify process-related questions and leverage their expertise. Benchmarking initiatives are recommended to reduce variation across FCs.
  • Drive network best practice implementation, leveraging local initiatives led with local Ops and share them with EU PE for review. Approved best practices are added to the EU Best Practice repository to help top 50% FCs reach Best In Class through Variation Reduction.
  • Strengthen the framework to capture and scale FC innovation. New ideas and projects flow through a standard process and are presented to ACES process SMEs for review.
  • Ensure major projects/ideas from the FC (e.g., 10M$+ WW saving) are uploaded in the OP1 Project Intake each year.
  • Own the deployment of all EU network initiatives assigned to the FC, ensuring they are executed on schedule and in compliance. Support the FC to commit to tests and pilots for EU Projects to avoid delays and ensure deployment and review across all EU FCs.
  • Partnership with the FC Ops: join the daily Gemba on the floor with FC Leadership to stay aligned with top issues and associate feedback; organize weekly LSC Meetings with FC Leadership updating on EU Variation Reduction, EU Projects rolled out, EU best practices, and FC local initiatives for test or pilot.
  • Support the Site Leader and FC Senior Management Team to build strong relationships, gaining trust and buy-in for initiatives. Be prepared to support Site Leader and Senior Ops on process-related ad hoc tasks from the FC accounting for less than 10% of working time.
  • Be ready to support or lead EU Projects that expand scope to coordinate more than one FC to improve project management skills and stakeholder engagement.
  • During Q4, be deployed to the site management operational team based on building needs.
  • Travel within the area of responsibility as needed. Domestic and regional travel is estimated at 0-10% (subject to change based on business need).
About the team
