The Role:

As a Software Development Engineer - AMA/AIPC, you will collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary teams to conceive and design innovative consumer products. Your ownership can span from application, device framework, proprietary connectivity stack, drivers, to low-level wireless controller coexistence and scheduling algorithms. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work on connectivity solutions across all Amazon digital devices, including Kindle, Fire TV, Echo, IoT, and mobile applications.

The Amazon Connectivity team develops connectivity software solutions for Amazon devices, including the Echo family of products. You will be part of a fast-paced, agile, and innovative team delivering new connectivity experiences for a diverse range of devices in a startup-like environment.

Key job responsibilities

We seek passionate, diligent, and talented software engineers experienced in building innovative, mission-critical, high-volume applications, particularly involving Bluetooth protocol stack software and other components on Android and embedded platforms. This high-visibility team offers the chance to significantly impact customer experience.

Our connectivity software solutions are deployed in revolutionary consumer devices that are among Amazon's best-selling products. This role offers an enormous opportunity to lead design, architecture, and implementation of products used daily by millions.

A day in the life

You will be working on building and integrating Bluetooth software stacks on Android and embedded platforms, contributing to products that enhance customer connectivity experiences. Your work will directly influence the quality and innovation of Amazon's consumer electronics.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language
  • Experience in designing or architecting systems (patterns, reliability, scaling)
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading engineering teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, reviews, source control, build, testing, and operations
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation varies by geographic market, with base pay ranging from $151,300 to $261,500 annually, depending on location, skills, and experience.
