Job summary

Summary of Role

Alliance Healthcare is seeking a professional and customer-focused Driver to join our team. As a key member of our distribution operation, you will be responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of pharmaceutical and healthcare products to customers. As the face of the business, you will play an important role in providing excellent customer service while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pharmaceutical and healthcare products accurately and on time to customers.
• Complete multi-drop delivery routes efficiently while adhering to schedules.
• Ensure all delivery paperwork and documentation is completed accurately.
• Report any delivery shortages, discrepancies, or issues promptly.
• Maintain high standards of customer service during every customer interaction.
• Adhere to all road safety, company, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance concerns.
• Support colleagues and operational activities as required to meet business needs.

Skills and Knowledge

• Full, clean UK Category C driving licence.
• Previous experience as a Delivery Driver, Multi-Drop Driver, LGV Driver, or similar role.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy when handling deliveries and paperwork.
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Positive, professional, and flexible approach to work.

Desirable Experience

• Delivering within the healthcare, pharmaceutical, or distribution sectors.
• Knowledge of multi-drop delivery operations.
• Familiarity with transport compliance and delivery documentation.
• Experience working in a fast-paced logistics environment.
• Good geographical knowledge of local delivery areas.
• Experience using handheld delivery devices or route management systems.
• Ability to support wider operational teams when required.
• Knowledge of safe loading and unloading practices.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
• 2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, warehouse operations, inventory control, or a related field required.
• Certification in forklift operation, licensure in commercial vehicle operation appropriate for assigned vehicle class and transported materials or equivalent preferred.
