POSITION: Sr. Director, LNG Operations & Sustainability

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the safe operation of the LNG fleet for Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, and Silversea.
- Develop and implement LNG shipboard and shoreside procedures aligned with RCG standards.
- Verify and promote suitable design and implementation of LNG systems on newbuilds.
- Lead initiatives on energy efficiency and carbon emissions reduction for the SSC Fleet.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies, including software solutions, to enhance sustainability.
- Create and maintain strategic plans for IMO environmental regulations, including EEXI, CII, and decarbonization strategies.
- Conduct pre-feasibility analyses and develop business cases for energy retrofits.
- Establish KPIs to monitor operational efficiency and identify improvement areas.
- Develop energy management advisory systems and track vessel efficiency.
- Coordinate with Marine and Technical Teams on energy retrofit investments to generate savings.
- Lead the development of an advanced operational database and analytics platform.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis related to decarbonization and renewable energy strategies.
- Identify operational excellence opportunities to grow revenue and reduce costs.
- Facilitate data-driven decisions on hull maintenance and coatings.
- Create and lead the digitalization roadmap, including fleet-wide mobile operations and energy management platforms.
- Collaborate with industry vendors and attend conferences to gather business intelligence.
- Drive continuous improvement projects and cost-saving initiatives.
- Report regularly to the executive team on retrofit programs and hull coating strategies.
- Maintain an energy toolbox for ongoing efficiency enhancements.
- Foster diversity and inclusion within the team.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Background in Marine, Industrial, Mechanical Energy Engineering, or Naval Architecture.
- Experience with shipping companies, classification societies, or similar organizations.
- Master’s degree in relevant engineering fields; PhD is a plus.
- 15+ years in vessel operations management, energy management, or fleet optimization.
- Leadership experience supervising 1-10 direct reports.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with programming and financial analysis.
- Knowledge of ship systems (HVAC, auxiliary, propulsion).
- Understanding of cruise line operations is preferred.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain the fleet retrofit strategic and financial plans concerning energy efficiency, decarbonization, and sustainability. Provide variance explanations for significant budget deviations with support from finance teams.
