Job summary

Sphera is seeking a skilled Cloud/DevOps professional to join a global team supporting multiple SaaS environments. You will work with Azure and other platforms, developing scalable, secure infrastructure and automation while coordinating with engineers to drive critical projects forward.

The role emphasizes CI/CD pipelines, scripting, Terraform/ARM, and containerization, with opportunities to implement modern cloud-native patterns and drive operational excellence across global deployments.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering CI/CD pipelines for SaaS in Azure.
• Strong scripting and automation capabilities across cloud platforms.
• Ability to design and optimize cloud networks (VNets, gateways, etc).
• Familiarity with integrating third-party tools like SonarCloud.
• Experience with containerization and Kubernetes orchestration.

Responsibilities

• Support application infrastructure to ensure platform performance and reliability.
• Build and maintain supporting infrastructure for cloud environments and applications.
• Use Azure resources to implement scalable, reliable, cost-efficient services.
• Guide critical projects with SME input and problem-solving leadership.

• Identify OS/configuration bottlenecks and optimize resources.

Job Description

You’ll be part of a global team supporting multiple SaaS environments that help make the world a safer place. We use Azure as our core, but host on multiple platforms due to specific needs and our rapid pace of development and acquisition. The environment is rapidly changing from IaaS to PaaS to server less. So, you’ll need to both apply your current skillsets and learn new things on a daily basis to push the business forward. While you’ll ultimately need a diversity of expert level skills to succeed, having deep understanding and experience in just a couple of areas (cloud infrastructure, scripting, automation, etc) may just get you in the door to a great career.

Responsibilities

• Support application infrastructure to ensure platform is optimized for performance and reliability.
• Build and maintain supporting infrastructure for cloud environments and applications.
• Use wide range of Azure resources to implement scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient services.
• Work side by side with your engineers, guiding critical projects, using your subject matter expertise to solve complex problems.
• Perform and automate system administration services including installation, configuration, maintenance, and disaster recovery.
• Identify system level issues related to OS configuration and virtual hardware bottlenecks.
• Automation, auditing and other tooling for security, compliance, and resource usage - Monitor and improve processes for all deployments.
• Take ownership of operational excellence to establish and maintain business focused KPI's.
• Use these metrics not only as a basis for positive transformation, but also as a visible representation of your team's success.

Essential skills

• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with multiple disciplines
• Solid foundation in either IT or Software Engineering
• Experience creating pipelines (CI/CD) and automating SaaS solutions in Azure.
• Strong automation skills both with scripting languages and Terraform, ARM, etc
• Ability to build and optimize cloud-based networks (VNets, App Gateways, etc)
• Familiarity and experience with integrating multiple third-party tools like SonarCloud.
• Ability to build environments from the ground up (windows, linux, SQL, Redis, WebApps, etc)
• Experience with containerization

Preferred skills

• Kubernetes or other orchestration tools
• Azure API management or similar
• NewRelic scripted monitors
• Experience with security tools (including CheckPoint) and best practices
• Hadoop, Kafka, Presto (or similar BI/Big Data tech)
