Sr Data Science Consultant

The Data Science Consultant provides services that maximize the value of the customer’s business through data-driven insights and enhanced decision support. This role involves advising customers, recommending software configuration options, and implementing solutions to optimize value and ensure maximum benefit from the software.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide analytical services within a team conducting proofs-of-concept and identifying opportunities to create customer value.
2. Perform data analysis to discover patterns, trends, and anomalies, translating findings into actionable insights and presenting results to support data quality improvements.
3. Extract and communicate data stories from customer datasets to demonstrate solution value and guide customer priorities.
4. Assist customers in identifying project success metrics.
5. Collaborate with team members to understand domain issues and customer-specific requirements, translating them into model enhancements and tuning activities.
6. Build, configure, and train models to support project objectives; run simulations and what-if analyses for scenario evaluation.
7. Support solution delivery by making recommendations and providing quantitative evidence of results.
8. Stay updated with industry trends in data science and continuously improve tools and methodologies.
9. Travel to customer and team locations as required (approximately 10%).

Qualifications:

1. PhD in a relevant field; additional European language skills are a plus.
2. Graduate degree in Operations Research, Statistics, or related quantitative field; advanced knowledge of machine learning is preferred.
3. Ability to elicit both explicit and tacit customer knowledge regarding business objectives and policies.
4. Skill in translating complex data into business insights and value opportunities.
5. Effective communication of analytic insights to non-technical stakeholders.
6. Familiarity with retail, pricing, and supply chain management processes is preferred.
7. Experience with scripting languages such as Python for data analytics and machine learning applications.
8. Ability to create dashboards, visualizations, and reports to communicate findings.
9. Proficiency in working with large datasets and selecting relevant data subsets.
