Senior Associate - Information Law - Flexible Location - 5+ years PQE

Location: Nationwide offices (Hybrid & Flexible)

Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £60,000 to £75,000 (depending on experience)

A nationally recognised law firm is seeking a Senior Associate Solicitor to join its progressive Information Law team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in advising on data protection, privacy, and freedom of information across the Education, Charity, and Business & Social Enterprise sectors, while contributing to the growth and success of a purpose-driven firm.

The Role

You will manage and oversee a varied caseload of information law matters, supervise team members, and support business development initiatives. The role offers the chance to work with a high-calibre client base and collaborate with specialists across the firm. Location is flexible across the firm\'s nationwide offices.

Responsibilities
  • Advising on UK GDPR, DPA 2018, FOIA, and related regulations
  • Handling statutory requests such as subject access and FOIA requests
  • Drafting privacy notices, policies, and consent mechanisms
  • Managing data breaches and liaising with the ICO
  • Drafting data sharing and processor agreements
  • Advising on direct marketing and fundraising compliance
  • Conducting training sessions and webinars
  • Supervising junior team members and contributing to team development
  • Supporting marketing and business development activities
Candidate Requirements

This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:

  • 5+ years PQE in information law, data protection, or privacy
  • Experience advising on UK GDPR, DPA, and FOIA
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently and supervise others
  • Commitment to career development and further learning
  • Experience in the Education, Charity, or Public Sectors (desirable)
  • CIPPE or equivalent qualification (desirable)
