Description

Amazon’s Brand Innovation Lab is looking for a talented and passionate Conceptual Creative (Art Director) to create one-of-a-kind campaigns for a wide range of brands across our European locales. You’ll partner with art directors, copywriters, designers, solutions managers, and producers to craft first-class customer experiences both on and offline by innovating with the Amazon canvas (Prime Video, Alexa, Twitch, etc.). You will lead projects and manage client relationships, focusing on creating work that benefits the end customer while pushing the creative envelope from brief to execution. This is a permanent role.

From ideation through launch, you will be responsible for delivering ambitious, insightful, and data-driven concepts that translate needs and constraints into customer-focused brand campaign ideas and solutions. You should be adept at both concept and execution, capable of articulating end-to-end experiences, and transforming visions into high-quality deliverables. Your work may include video content, UI designs for voice and screen, interaction models, prototypes, and interactive ad campaigns. The role involves using data and insights to develop campaign strategies, designs, and templates for innovative brand campaigns that solve customer problems across Amazon platforms. Candidates should demonstrate high-quality design and stellar art direction skills across various touchpoints, with proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PowerPoint, and Figma (or an interest to learn Figma). We seek a conceptual art director with strong design skills and an understanding of UX design.

Key job responsibilities
  • Conceptualize, design, and execute innovative ad campaigns and experiences for global brands.
  • Collaborate with copywriters, designers, program managers, developers, strategists, and producers to create customer-centric solutions that meet advertiser objectives.
  • Lead campaigns independently from brief to execution, working with internal teams, clients, and external agencies.
  • Deeply understand customer needs to create work that delivers both innovation and measurable results.
  • Present ideas and concepts to clients, agencies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ideate for various media including film, print, digital, out-of-home, experiential, and social platforms.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously within budget and deadlines.
  • Proactively develop new products and ideas to enhance customer experience.
A day in the life
  • Partner with brands, media, and creative agencies on innovative campaigns across sectors like automotive, finance, energy, and telecommunications.
  • Design brand experiences ranging from Prime Video documentaries to Alexa-branded experiences, always aiming for groundbreaking ideas.
  • Present campaigns to brand clients and partners in creative and media agencies.
  • Review edits and work-in-progress, gather feedback, and ensure high creative standards.
  • Collaborate with your team on proactive projects and initiatives to bring ideas to life.
About The Team

The Brand Innovation Lab is Amazon’s internal team creating unique campaigns and activations for global advertisers like Coca-Cola, Visa, BMW, Microsoft, Adidas, Samsung, and Unilever. Utilizing Amazon’s diverse platforms (AR/VR, Alexa, Twitch, Prime Video, custom landing pages), we craft campaigns reaching millions of Amazon customers both digitally and in the real world.

Basic Qualifications
  • Experience as a conceptual creative (Art Director) at ad agencies or in-house creative teams.
  • Online portfolio showcasing award-winning campaigns, conceptual thinking, art direction, and design.
  • Deep understanding of design tools (Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, InVision) and basic UX principles.
  • Exceptional presentation and storytelling skills.
  • Strong organizational and collaborative abilities.
  • Excellent craft and project ownership skills.
  • Insight-driven, data-focused, with a focus on measurable campaign impact.
  • Interest in innovation and technology.
  • Proactive, able to manage ambiguity, work independently, and handle multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Successful track record managing projects across time zones.
  • Experience working with diverse regions.
  • Strong mentoring skills.
