Job description

Helix Design Group, a division of Shive-Hattery, is seeking an Architectural Project Manager with a background in the A/E/C industry and a passion for managing multi-discipline projects. We are looking for a teammate in our Tacoma, WA office who is eager to collaboratively unite the Client, Designer, and Contractor to deliver desired outcomes.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

1. Participate actively in design and project management through discussions, collaboration, and work on drawings, models, and 3D imaging formats.
2. As a licensed design professional, direct non-licensed professionals, create graphical images, and perform design and detailing tasks in Revit.
3. Attend project and client meetings to explore business development opportunities.
4. Possess 10 to 15+ years of architecture experience, with a professional degree in architecture or equivalent education and experience.
5. Hold or plan to obtain PMI’s PMP certification within one year of achieving Project Manager 4 status.
6. Manage and supervise project teams on medium to large projects, especially federal, DOD, and civic projects, demonstrating critical and creative thinking.
7. Understand architectural specifications, building codes, life safety, and ADA requirements.
8. Knowledge of programming, planning, building performance, and experience in designing complex projects within federal and civic sectors.
9. Be self-motivated with excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
10. Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, SpecLink, and Microsoft Office; familiarity with AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite is beneficial.
