Job summary

A recruitment consultancy is seeking a Database Administrator in Camberley. The role involves SQL Server database management, performance tuning, and implementing data models. Job description

Hours: 35-40/hours (Week)

Implements data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes.

Experience and Skills required :

• SQL Server Instance/Database Upgrade and Migration
• Clustering, Database Mirroring, Log Shipping, AlwaysOn Replication (Implementation / Design / Support).
• Working knowledge of PowerShell Scripting
• Database Performance Tuning, Optimisation Diagnostics (using SQL Profiler/Server-side trace profiler, Extended Events, Database Engine Tuning Advisor, Execution Plan and Performance Monitor)
• Should be able to write T-SQL code (Views, Functions, Stored Procedures Triggers) - Development and Optimisation
• SQL Server Integrated Service (SSIS) or DTS -Administration
• SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) -Administration
• SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) -Administration
• Backup Recovery, Index Design and Analysis
• Experience of managing large databases
• Monitor system's health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security.
• Should be able to work in focussed environment with applications sensitive to quick response to issues
• Familiar with ITIL - Service Management (Change, Release, Problem and Incident Management)
• Familiar with Windows Operating System Administration (Windows )

Responsibilities:

• Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company database.
• Implements data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes.
• resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
