Job summary

VIQU IT in London is recruiting a SQL DBA for a six-month contract, potentially extending up to two years. The role is based in central London with on-site work two days per week.

You will lead migrations, design and optimize SQL/BI solutions, and support the data lifecycle in an agile setting. Candidates should have current or recent SC security clearance and strong Microsoft SQL BI experience, including SSIS/SSAS/SSRS, Visual Studio, and SSMS.

Qualifications

• Must hold current SC security clearance or recently expired clearance.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL BI stack and related tools.
• Experience with migration projects and in-place migrations.

Responsibilities

• Lead migrations from legacy SQL Server versions to 2019/2022 with 2025 planned.
• Install, migrate and support legacy SQL and SQL BI stacks across the business.
• Design and develop reliable SQL and database solutions.
• Improve performance by optimizing BI-related code and SQL queries.
• Support data lifecycle in an agile environment.
• Independently manage tasks and collaborate with the team.
• Work outside normal hours when required to support migrations.

Requirements:

• Current or recently expired SC Security Clearance; valid, active clearance is required, with recently lapsed clearance also considered
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including the SQL BI stack, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Visual Studio, and SQL Server Management Studio
• Proven experience with migration projects, including the ability to explain challenges and identify potential issues
• Experience performing in-place migrations
• Awareness of feature differences between SQL Server 2012/2016 and SQL Server 2019/2022
• Familiarity with Terraform, Git, and PowerShell is advantageous
