Step into the future of manufacturing with us!

We are looking for an experienced SQL Server Developer who can join us immediately to shape the next generation of Smart Manufacturing. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract with the opportunity to make an immediate impact on our Industry 4.0 journey.

You will need to work a minimum of 2–3 days each week on-site at our Hull manufacturing site, collaborating closely with colleagues in operations and data to deliver meaningful, real-time solutions.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Build and optimize SQL Server solutions that capture real-time data from production lines, machines, and IoT devices
  • Design scalable time-series data pipelines to power analytics, dashboards, and predictive insights
  • Lead the migration of SQL Server workloads into Microsoft Fabric with a focus on KQL databases for real-time analytics
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable predictive maintenance, process optimization, and smart factory operations
  • Apply Agile ways of working, delivering high-value solutions in sprints with measurable impact
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across hybrid manufacturing environments
  • Tune and optimize KQL queries to unlock new levels of insight from real-time manufacturing data
What We Are Looking For
  • Someone who is available to start immediately
  • 5+ years of SQL Server development experience with advanced T-SQL skills
  • Proven background in real-time data collection, telemetry, and high-frequency data environments
  • Solid understanding of time-series data processing and analytics
  • Hands-on experience migrating workloads to Microsoft Fabric and working with KQL databases (Azure Data Explorer or Fabric Real-Time Analytics)
  • Experience with Industry 4.0, Smart Manufacturing, or Smart Factory systems
  • A track record of working in Agile teams with iterative delivery
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, IoT integration, or industrial data environments
It would be great if you also bring
  • Knowledge of IoT protocols (OPC UA, MQTT) or edge computing
  • Experience with Azure Event Hubs, Synapse, or IoT Hub
  • Exposure to predictive maintenance, performance monitoring, or manufacturing KPIs
  • Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools
  • Training or certification in Agile or Scrum
