Job summary

Amida Solutions is seeking a Sprinkler Design Engineer in Dudley, West Midlands to design fire protection sprinkler systems to relevant standards. You will produce installation drawings, lay out hydraulic calculations, and coordinate with clients and site teams.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years’ experience, strong AutoCAD and Revit skills, and hands-on Canute FHC hydraulic design experience; LPCB and FM/NFPA knowledge are a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 Years experience in the design of fire protection sprinkler systems.
• Must be experienced in producing technical drawings in AutoCAD and Revit sheets.
• Experience in the production of the hydraulic calculations using the Canute FHC design software.

Responsibilities

• Production and design responsibility of fire protection sprinkler system installation drawings and coordination models.
• Production of hydraulic calculations.
• Onsite surveying, where necessary.
• Attend coordination meetings within the wider clients' task team.
• Carry out checks to ensure designs are compliant to the relevant standards and project specifications.
• Mentor junior members of the design department.

The Sprinkler Design Engineer ensures designs are produced to a high quality, are compliant with the relevant standards and meet necessary timescales, while maintaining a professional relationship with clients, team members and sub-contractors.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Knowledge of LPC Sprinkler Rules is essential.
• Minimum of LCPB Basic Design Qualification.
• LPCB Intermediate and FHC Design Qualifications would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of FM and NFPA standards would be advantageous
