Job summary

Arnold Clark Group is seeking a Spray Painter at Chesterfield Motorstore. You will work in a busy workshop restoring accident-damaged and sales vehicles to their former glory, with a focus on a high standard of finish.

The role requires prior spray-paint experience, energy, efficiency, and the ability to work on your own initiative or as part of a team. 44 hours per week, with generous leave and ongoing training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Vehicle Spray Painter in a professional workshop.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Able to work well in a team or on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles for paintwork.
• Mask vehicles prior to painting.
• Carry out minor damage repairs.
• Polish to remove defects in paintwork.
• Mix paint and apply to vehicles.
• Apply paint products to a high standard.

Job description

We offer our Spray Painters:

• Up to £47,000 OTE plus benefits
• Additional opportunity to earn up to £9,000 every three years in performance-based bonuses – terms and conditions apply

Hours

Full time: Monday – Thursday8am – 5.30pm and Friday 8am - 4.30pm

About the role

Working within a busy workshop environment, you’ll work on accident-damaged and sales vehicles to restore them to their former glory.

You’ll need to have previous experience, be energetic, efficient and happy to work on your own initiative to get every job done to the highest standard.

Essential skills

• Previous experience as a Vehicle Spray Painter in a professional workshop
• Good attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
• The ability to work both as part of a team and on your own initiative

Day-to-day duties

• Preparing vehicles for paintwork
• Masking vehicles in preparation for paintwork
• Carrying out minor damage repairs
• Polishing to remove defects from vehicle paintwork
• Mixing paint to apply to vehicles
• Applying paint products correctly and to a high standard
