Job summary

Wrightbus in Ballymena is recruiting for Spray Painters to join our paint shop team. You will be responsible for preparing and applying basecoat and direct gloss colors, ensuring high-quality finishes on vehicles.

The role requires time-served spray painting experience (or 4 years in relevant roles), knowledge of basecoat/clearcoat systems, and a commitment to health and safety along with flexible shift patterns.

Qualifications

• Time served spray painter or 4 years relevant experience.
• Experience of spray painting with preparation knowledge.
• Experience within commercial or car industry.
• Knowledge of clear over base and 2 pack paint.
• Repairs to minor dents.
• Spot repairs to paintwork.
• Knowledge of templates and marking out vehicles.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Willing to undertake training as required.
• Awareness of general Health and Safety rules.
• Proven ability to be flexible, working overtime and changing shift patterns as required.

Responsibilities

• Marking out and spraying of basecoat and direct gloss colours.
• Touch up repairs and small paint repairs before sign-off and delivery.
• Assist paint preparation by marking up vehicles prior to paint.
• Safe operation of plant, equipment and hand tools in paint processes.
• Compliance with Health and Safety policy procedures.
• Undertake training or retraining as required.
• Undertake other duties conducive to efficient operation.

Job description

Due to continued success, Wrightbus are currently recruiting for Spray Painters.

Hours of work:

3 week rotation 34.5 hours per week

Week 1 Monday to Wednesday 06:00-18:00

Week 2 Monday to Wednesday 18:00-06:00

Week 3 Thursday to Saturday 06:00-18:00

The Role:

• Responsible for the marking out and spraying of Basecoat and Direct gloss colours.
• Responsible for any touch up repairs and small paint repairs, prior to sign-off and vehicle delivery.
• Responsible for assisting paint preparation i.e., marking up vehicles prior to paint.
• Responsible for the safe operation of plant, equipment and/or hand tools associated with the paint-preparation & paint processes.
• Responsible for compliance with the company’s Health and Safety policy procedures.
• Responsible for undertaking training or retraining associated with the post or the introduction of new working practices.
• Undertake any other duties conducive with the effective operation of the post.
