Job description

Spray Paint Operative
Monday to Friday 1.30 pm to 10 pm
Up to £20 per hour, Weekly Pay
Immediate Start, Free Parking onsite
Basildon
Temporary Contract 6-8 weeks

Join a busy manufacturing team in Basildon for a 6–8 week temporary assignment, delivering high-quality spray finishes on a variety of products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, degreasing, masking and filling as required.
• Mix and apply paint, enamel, lacquer, glaze or gel-coat using spray guns and brushes.
• Ensure smooth and even coating, including hard-to-reach areas.
• Maintain and clean all equipment including spray guns and the cleaning machine.
• Carry out regular cleaning tasks in the paint area, booth and mixing room.
• Complete paint process documentation daily and manage paint waste disposal.
• Support the Team Leader with stock movement and general tasks between units.

About You:

• Prior experience in a manufacturing or paint spraying role is preferred.
• Confident working both independently and within a team.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
• Able to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with 7S methodology (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain, Safety, Spirit) is desirable.
