Job summary

TeacherActive are recruiting a Sporty SEND Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist SEND school in London. If you have a background in sports coaching, PE or youth work, you could inspire pupils using sport to build confidence, teamwork and resilience.

This role involves 1:1 and small-group support, helping with emotional regulation, behaviour and inclusion in lessons, and building positive relationships with pupils who may struggle in traditional classrooms.

Qualifications

• Background in sports coaching, PE, youth work or education.
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND or challenging behaviour.
• Positive, energetic and resilient personality.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to act as a positive role model.

Responsibilities

We are looking for enthusiastic, resilient and proactive individuals who enjoy being active and can use sport, physical activity and positive engagement to support pupils with Autism (ASD), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and other additional learning needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for sports coaches, PE graduates, youth workers or experienced Teaching Assistants looking to make a real difference in a specialist education setting.
