A leading educational support organization in Newcastle is seeking an SEMH Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one and small group support in a specialist setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in SEMH environments and a strong commitment to student wellbeing. This temporary role may transition to a permanent position. What you'll be doing:
Providing consistent, one-to-one and small group support
Using trauma-informed approaches to help pupils thrive
Supporting learning, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing
Working closely with teachers, SENCO, and pastoral staff
What we’re looking for:
Experience in SEMH settings or similar (PRU, SEND, Behaviour Support)
Calm under pressure and confident with de-escalation strategies
Resilient, empathetic, and committed to making a difference

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
