Job summary

Harnham in London is seeking a Quantitative Analyst to build predictive models forecasting sporting outcomes and driving trading performance. You will develop statistical models, test ideas on large datasets, and collaborate with researchers, traders, and engineers in a highly technical, autonomous environment.

The role requires a strong maths/Stats background, MSc/PhD preferred, and excellent Python skills. A competitive salary with bonus and benefits is offered, onsite five days a week.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or another quantitative discipline.
  • MSc or PhD preferred, although exceptional candidates from other backgrounds will be considered.
  • Strong understanding of probability, statistics, and mathematical modelling.
  • Experience working with real-world data and quantitative research.
  • Strong Python skills.
  • Evidence of deep expertise in a highly technical area.
  • Interest in sport and data-driven environments.

Responsibilities

  • Build statistical and mathematical models using real-world data.
  • Research new approaches to improve forecasting accuracy.
  • Apply probability, statistics, and quantitative techniques to complex problems.
  • Write high-quality Python code.
  • Test and validate models with large datasets.
