A leading university in the UK is seeking a Sports Facility Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the Centre for Sport facilities. This role includes managing a team, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and providing excellent customer service. Candidates must have strong organisational skills and experience in team supervision. The position demands a proactive leader committed to service excellence.
The Sports Facility Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective daily operation of the Centre for Sport facilities. This includes overseeing Centre Assistants and supervising customer activities during assigned shifts. The role is pivotal in upholding Health & Safety standards, fostering team development, and delivering a consistently high-quality experience for all users of the facilities.
The successful candidate will have good organisational skills and can demonstrate broad based administrative experience in professional or specialist service in a large complex organisation (e.g., Higher Education). The candidate must have experience of team supervision, motivation and coaching with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of people including University staff, students and members of the public. Experience in organising leisure centre activities and excellent IT skills (email, MS Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel to expert level) are required.
The role encompasses a fixed 4-week rota pattern – 2 days as Duty Officer (18.5 hours) with remaining hours administrative-based, distributed throughout the week.

This is a full-time, permanent post, working 37 hours per week.
