About the School

Prospero Teaching is seeking a confident and energetic Sports Coach for a school in Wythenshawe.

Your responsibilities will include delivering PE sessions and coaching in the gym, as well as taking students to sports activities such as boxing and trampolining.

You should be confident in implementing the school sport programme, promoting physical fitness and healthy lifestyles, and serving as a positive role model for pupils who are disengaged with their studies.

The school caters to secondary students, many of whom have found it challenging to study in mainstream settings, including some with an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The provision supports a range of needs, including autistic spectrum disorder, Asperger's Syndrome, speech and language difficulties, and severe social, emotional, and mental health difficulties such as ADHD.

This position is open to experienced individuals or those with a strong background in delivering and mentoring sports to children and young adults. Depending on performance, there may be opportunities for contract extension or a permanent role.

Experience, Training, and Qualifications

• Previous experience delivering sports sessions
• GCSE Maths and English; computer literate
• Up-to-date safeguarding training (issued within the last year)
• Team Teach qualification or willingness to attend training (via our agency)

Eligibility for this role through Prospero Teaching

• Hold the right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references covering at least the last two years
