Job summary

Uniform Education is seeking a dedicated Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant for a Surrey school. The role supports pupils in lessons and PE, in both classroom and sports contexts, with a focus on encouraging participation, confidence, and positive behaviour.

We welcome candidates with experience as sports coaches, PE assistants, teaching assistants, mentors or youth workers. DBS Enhanced is preferred and willingness to apply through Uniform Education is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in a school setting.
• Passion for sport, fitness and helping young people develop.
• Qualified or experienced Sports Coach, PE Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Mentor or Youth Worker.
• Confident leading activities and engaging pupils.
• Able to motivate pupils and manage behaviour effectively.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with their learning and development during lessons.
• Assist teachers with classroom activities and general learning support.
• Deliver or assist with PE lessons and sporting activities.
• Use sport to improve pupil engagement and confidence.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required.
• Encourage teamwork and positive behaviour during activities.
• Support pupils with SEND or behavioural needs.
• Help pupils develop resilience and communication skills.
• Organise and supervise sports activities during breaks.
