Job Title: Sports Coach SEMH

Location: Sheffield

Pay Rate: £100 – £120 per day (depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Are you an energetic and passionate Sports Coach with experience supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs? GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Sports Coach SEMH to join a school in Sheffield. This role provides an exciting opportunity to motivate pupils, develop their physical skills, and support their emotional and social development through sport and physical activity.

Role Overview

As a Sports Coach SEMH, you will assist PE staff in delivering tailored lessons, lead extracurricular sports sessions, and support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, promoting teamwork, confidence, and personal development.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver sports coaching sessions in line with the school’s PE curriculum.
  • Support PE lessons and encourage active participation.
  • Promote health, fitness, and wellbeing among pupils.
  • Inspire teamwork, fair play, and resilience through sport.
  • Assist with organising and supervising sports clubs, competitions, and events.
  • Uphold high standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare.
Requirements
  • Experience coaching or teaching sports, ideally with SEMH pupils.
  • Coaching qualifications or relevant experience in multiple sports.
  • Strong communication, motivational, and organisational skills.
  • A passion for promoting active lifestyles and sports participation.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
