We are looking to appoint a Sports Coach to work across Primary School Academy in supporting the education of Indoor PE, including Gymnastics, Dance and Movement. We are looking for an experienced Sports Coach to support individuals and groups of students to support high standards of teaching Sports.

Main Areas of Responsibility

As Sports Coach, your responsibilities will include:

  • To ensure high standards of achievement and behaviour in PE lessons.
  • Setting appropriate, realistic yet demanding expectations for students' learning, building on prior attainment/knowledge.
  • Identifying students who may require learning support and know where to enlist help if and when required.
  • Providing detailed and regular feedback to teachers on students’ achievement, progress and needs.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualifications to degree level or equivalent
  • Experience of working directly with primary aged children in a school, supporting the learning of students in Sports/PE.
  • Experience in planning and leading a PE session solely
  • Experience of establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders, at all levels.
  • Experience of managing and being responsible for own workload
  • Can start as soon as possible or with a short notice period

Job role: Sports Coach

Working pattern: 38 weeks per year, 40 hours per week

Contract type: Long Term

We are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. You will have a safeguarding responsibility if appointed. The successful candidate will be subject to enhanced clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service and employment will be subject to references. This post is not exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
