Sports Coach - KS3 to KS4

Location: Barnsley

Salary: £90 - £110 per day (depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term, Part-time / Full-time

GSL Education is looking to appoint a Sports Coach to work in secondary schools across Barnsley. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to inspire and develop young athletes, instilling teamwork, discipline, and a passion for sports.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and deliver engaging training sessions to enhance students' skills and fitness.
  2. Develop individual and team training programmes, focusing on technique, strategy, and conditioning.
  3. Ensure student safety by implementing proper guidelines and equipment usage.
  4. Provide constructive feedback and motivation to build confidence and resilience.
  5. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding schedules, progress, and match results.

Requirements:
  1. A degree in Sport and Exercise Science or Physical Education (2:1 or higher).
  2. Strong knowledge of sports rules, strategies, and coaching techniques.
  3. Understanding of sports injury prevention, management, and rehabilitation.
  4. Leadership and communication skills to engage and inspire students.
  5. Ability to create a positive and inclusive team environment.
  6. An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
