Overview

Sports Coach/Cover Supervisor

Smile Education are delighted to be supporting this friendly school in the recruitment of a Sports Coach. The role can be offered on a full-time or part-time basis. We are currently seeking a Sports Coach to join this busy school based in Solihull. This role is ideal for any graduates from a sports related degree or coaches with significant experience working with children or young adults. The successful applicant will be supporting pupils from Year 7 through to GCSE level, working alongside experienced PE Teachers and delivering pre-planned lesson content. This role is ideal for anyone who may be considering teacher training options, allowing you to gain first hand classroom-based experience before committing to a route of study. But is also a fantastic change of pace for any experienced coaches looking for a new challenge.

Position and Salary

The successful applicant will be joining the team from September 2025, with an expected salary range of 100-130 per day, depending on experience level.

Location and Training

The school is located near Solihull, within close proximity to Moseley and Birmingham. Applicants will receive training through our Smile Education Graduate Academy, including safeguarding training and access to multiple online training courses.

What to Expect from Applicants

We would like applicants to be either a recent graduate from a sport based route of study, graduating from 2024 onwards. Or be an experienced coach with a significant work history based around supporting children or young adults.

Responsibilities

• A recent graduate (from 2024 onwards) from a sports related route of study. Or an experienced sports coach with a background in supporting children or young adults.
• Confident in managing practical sports activities while working with large groups of pupils
• A genuine interest in working within a school setting and supporting pupils within PE

Requirements

• Safeguarding checks: Prohibited list, Barred list, DBS and Qualifications.
• You may be based at more than one school within the Trust, so the ability to drive is helpful.
