Job description

Job Title: Primary Sports Coach
Location: Wakefield
Salary: £85–£100 per day (PAYE)
Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only
Start Date: September 2025 (or sooner if you’re ready to go)

Got energy to burn and a way with kids? This Wakefield school’s after a Sports Coach who can inspire, motivate, and keep things moving—rain or shine.

We’re working with a brilliant primary school in Wakefield that’s on the lookout for someone who lives and breathes sport, but knows how to keep it inclusive, fun, and structured. You don’t need to be a Premier League coach—just someone who’s passionate, positive, and gets the best out of every child, whether they’re footy mad or still learning to catch.

The role includes:

  • Leading PE lessons across KS1 and KS2 (planning provided)

  • Running active games and structured activities at break and lunch

  • Supporting pupils with motor skills and confidence building

  • Helping out in the classroom when needed—teamwork makes the dream work

This job’ll suit someone who:

  • Has experience coaching kids (in schools, clubs, or community groups)

  • Can keep kids engaged, active, and smiling—even on soggy Tuesdays

  • Knows how to manage behaviour with confidence and kindness

  • Loves being part of a school team and mucking in where needed

Got a sports coaching qualification or experience in schools? Even better.

What you’ll get with Protocol:

  • Weekly pay through PAYE—none of that umbrella palaver

  • Free CPD including behaviour and safeguarding training

  • Support from a local consultant who’ll actually pick up the phone

  • Proper roles in schools that’ll really appreciate what you bring

Fancy putting your skills to good use? Apply today or give us a shout—we’ll get you sorted sharpish.
