SEND Sports Coach - Secondary School

Location: Harrow (HA3) - commutable from Wembley, Stanmore, Kenton, Northolt, Greenford, and Watford

Pay: 95-115 per day (depending on experience)

Start Date: September 2025

Contract: Full-time, long-term

Long Term Futures is working with an inclusive and supportive secondary school in Harrow to appoint a dedicated SEND Sports Coach. This role blends pastoral and academic responsibilities, offering the opportunity to support young people with a range of SEND needs, both in the classroom and through structured sporting activities.

The Role

You will be joining a strong SEND and pastoral team, playing a vital role in helping students develop both academically and socially. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND, focusing on both classroom learning and physical activity
  • Leading and assisting with structured sports sessions that promote teamwork, self-regulation, and resilience
  • Implementing behaviour management strategies to maintain engagement in and outside of lessons
  • Supporting teachers in adapting classroom activities to suit the needs of students with SEMH and ASD
  • Helping to monitor student progress and wellbeing, feeding into reviews and personalised learning plans
  • Acting as a role model for pupils, encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and healthy lifestyle choices
What We're Looking For
  • Experience working with young people in a school, coaching, or youth work setting
  • Strong understanding of supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, or behaviour needs
  • A proactive and resilient individual with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead sports activities confidently while also supporting academic learning in lessons
  • Calm, patient, and committed to inclusion and student wellbeing
