Job description

Prospero Teaching is seeking a confident and knowledgeable Sports Coach to join a large, successful primary school in Sandbach. This is a great opportunity for both recently qualified and experienced Sports Coaches to secure a long-term role, contributing to children's development within a dynamic staff team. The position is full-time, starting in September and continuing for the full academic year.

The school boasts a generous and positive staff team committed to providing children with an inspiring and broad educational experience. Children are encouraged to be independent learners through a wide range of learning and play opportunities. The Sports Coach will support a child with additional needs, potentially including autism, which may be undiagnosed due to the child's age. The role involves working with groups and individuals on learning, play, and craft activities, contributing to daily classroom operations, resource creation, assessments, and behavior management.

This role will involve:

1. Providing targeted support and interventions across the curriculum
2. Leading activity groups in core areas such as Phonics, Reading, Maths, and Writing
3. Working with individuals on learning and development activities
4. Preparing resources and managing classroom areas
5. Conducting assessments and maintaining records
6. Supporting daily routines for children
7. Engaging children in learning and play activities indoors and outdoors
8. Communicating with parents

12. Working hours – 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, full-time

Experience, Training, and Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a UK primary school setting
• Supporting in Early Years, Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (Level 2 or higher), Education Studies Degree, Psychology Degree, or similar qualifications
• Recent Safeguarding and Prevent training (within the last 12 months); free online training available through Prospero if needed

Eligibility Requirements:

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to obtain one (cost applicable)
• Two professional references covering the past 2 years
