We’re looking for a passionate and driven Sports Coach & Teaching Assistant to join our primary school team. Responsibilities:
  • Lead fun, inclusive PE lessons and sports activities across the school.
  • Support classroom learning as a Teaching Assistant, helping pupils reach their full potential.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring to boost confidence, resilience, and wellbeing.
  • Run lunchtime and after-school clubs that promote teamwork, discipline, and self-belief.
  • Work closely with staff to identify and support pupils who need extra encouragement.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children in a school, coaching, or youth work setting.
  • A recognised sports coaching qualification (e.g., Level 2 or above).
  • A genuine passion for helping children grow — physically, emotionally, and socially.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive, proactive attitude.
  • An understanding of the challenges faced by children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or mentor.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
