Overview

Sports Coach role at a Secondary Alternative Provision in Blackburn, supporting pupils who benefit from a tailored and nurturing educational approach.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver structured and engaging sports sessions throughout the school day
  • Encourage physical fitness, teamwork, and personal development in students
  • Provide general classroom support and assist with Teaching Assistant duties when needed
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with students who may present challenging behaviour
  • Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to create a positive and safe environment
About You
  • Experienced in sports, fitness, youth work, or education
  • Confident with behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
  • Adaptable, calm under pressure, and committed to supporting young people
  • Willing to take on general TA responsibilities across the school day
  • A background in education or previous experience working in an Alternative Provision, PRU, or SEMH setting is highly desirable.
Details
  • Location: Blackburn
  • Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 3:20pm; Friday 8:00am – 2:30pm
  • Pay: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour
  • Start Date: ASAP

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
