Job summary

South Gloucestershire & Stroud College (SGS) is seeking a Theatre and Events Coordinator to support the Communities and Partnerships team. You will coordinate daily theatre and events activities, build partnerships with clubs, organisations, and partners, and drive community engagement across SGS venues.

The role requires strong planning, customer service, and event delivery capabilities, with a focus on collaboration with curriculum teams, sports academies, and external partners.

Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating bookings, events, sports activities or customer services in a busy environment.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day operation, booking and utilisation of SGS sports facilities to ensure an excellent experience for all users.
  • Act as main contact for sports clubs, governing bodies, community organisations, commercial customers and facility hirers.
  • Plan and support delivery of sporting events, tournaments, competitions and community programmes across SGS venues.
  • Build and maintain partnerships to increase facility usage, community engagement and commercial opportunities.
  • Work with Sports Academies, curriculum teams and operational departments to maximise use and impact of SGS facilities.
  • Promote SGS WISE and sports facilities to grow participation and support income targets.

We have an exciting role of Theatre and Events Coordinator within our Communities and Partnerships team!

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
  • Level 3 qualification in Sport, Leisure Management, Management, Events, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Experience coordinating bookings, events, sports activities or customer services within a busy environment.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and schedules effectively.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, with experience working with customers, clubs, community organisations and partners.
  • Knowledge of sports facility operations, venue management, health and safety, safeguarding and event delivery.
