Sports and Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: Leicester (LE8)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Pay: £90 - £100 per day
Start: September 2025
Contract: Long-term to permanent

Do you have a passion for sport and a drive to help young people overcome barriers to learning?

Long Term Futures are looking to appoint a Sports and Behaviour Assistant on behalf of a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school based in Leicester (LE8) that provides tailored education for children and young people aged 4-16.

This role would suit someone from a sports coaching, PE, or youth work background who wants to apply their skills in an educational setting. While you'll be working primarily in the classroom, there are regular opportunities to integrate structured physical activity and sports-based interventions into your support.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1-1 support to students with SEMH
- Deliver individual and group-based support in both academic and physical activities
- Encouraging engagement and building positive relationships with students who may display challenging behaviour
- Supporting emotional wellbeing and social development
- Promoting resilience, confidence and teamwork through sports and movement
- Acting as a consistent and encouraging role model across the school day

Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in sports, physical education or coaching
- Previous work with children or young people with additional support needs
- Calm, patient and energetic, with strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning
