Educato Recruitment is seeking an experienced Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with SEMH needs in an Alternative Provision in Salford. The role emphasises building positive relationships, using sport and routines to regulate emotions, and includes transporting pupils daily.

A driving licence with access to a vehicle and appropriate business insurance is required. DBS Update Service or willingness to obtain one is expected. This is a full-time post in a safeguarding-focused setting.

Qualifications

• Experience working with challenging behaviour and SEMH in young people.
• Strong understanding of behaviour management and de-escalation.
• Sporting background such as coaching, PE, football coaching or youth development.
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle with business insurance for transporting pupils.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Commitment to working full-time in a long-term role.

Responsabilités

• Provide consistent 1:1 behaviour mentoring to pupils with SEMH needs, ADHD, autism and challenging behaviour.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils who may have experienced exclusions or disrupted education.
• Use effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
• Encourage emotional regulation and positive decision-making.
• Use sport and physical activity to engage pupils and promote positive behaviour.
• Support pupils in developing confidence and resilience.
• Transport pupils safely to and from the provision as required.
• Work with teaching staff and other professionals to implement individual behaviour support strategies.
