Sport Communications Coordinator and Media Delegate – Road Sport (London-UK)

Join the FIA and play a key role in shaping the communications strategy for the FIA's dynamic road sport championships!

As Sport Communications Coordinator and Media Delegate, you will be at the heart of the transformation of the FIA’s rallycross categories. You will drive visibility for the European Championship and World Cup, grow the fanbase, and engage key stakeholders. From developing PR strategies to managing on-site media operations at international events, you will be an essential part of a high-performing and internationally focused team. You will report to the Communications Manager for Road Sport.

MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS & PROMOTION

  • Develop and implement communication and PR strategies for the FIA European Rallycross Championship, FIA World Rally-Raid Championship, and other assigned events.
  • Collaborate with the digital and content teams to manage editorial content, produce media assets, and ensure high-impact messaging across all platforms.
  • Work closely with marketing and event managers to define and execute the promotional strategy for each event.
  • Engage with media, drivers, teams, and partners to build strong relationships and ensure cohesive messaging.
  • Act as the main point of contact for media enquiries and support crisis communication efforts when needed.

EVENT OPERATIONS & MEDIA MANAGEMENT

  • Act as the official Media Delegate on-site at FIA European Rallycross Championship events, the FIA Rallycross World Cup, and other assigned competitions.
  • Coordinate with FIA Sporting Departments, event promoters, and National Sporting Authorities to manage all media activities.
  • Oversee on-site media operations, including the media centre, accreditation, press conferences, and TV crew activities.
  • Ensure all media guidelines and protocols are clearly implemented and respected by all stakeholders.
  • Liaise with event officials and stewards on all media-related matters during race weekends.

PROFILE:

  • University degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in both communications and event management within the field of motorsport or extreme sports.
  • A strong understanding of and genuine interest in the world of motor sport are essential. Experience in rallycross and cross-country rally categories is a strong asset.
  • Experience working within a communications agency is a plus.
  • Proven expertise in English-language communications (C2/native level).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • High level of professionalism, initiative, and accountability.
  • Proficiency with website CMS, social media platforms, and tools such as Monday.com or Meltwater is an asset.

This position is based in the UK and requires international travel for up to 15 championship events per year, including weekends.
