Sport and Leisure Attendant - Lifeguard Qualified (with Key Holder Responsibilities)

Location: Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Company: Chesterfield Borough Council. Job type: Permanent. Hours: Full time. Salary: £12.85 to £15.56 per hour. Closing date: 26 October 2025. Posting date: 08 October 2025.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure customer safety at all times; lifeguarding and public interaction.
  • Cleaning duties and setting up/dismantling sports equipment in a safe environment.
  • Undertake general leisure attendant duties and work flexibly as part of the team.
  • Travel between council sports and leisure venues within the borough as required.
  • Undertake key holder responsibilities to ensure continuity of service during periods of annual leave and sickness.
Qualifications
  • Current Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS) Lifeguarding qualification.
  • Desirable but not essential: pool plant operator; current first aid at work certificate.
  • Eligible to work in the UK; no sponsorship available for an employment visa at this time.
  • Willingness to work regular unsocial hours, including evenings and weekends.
Benefits and Terms
  • Salary details: £12.85 to £13.05 per hour, with £15.56 per hour when undertaking key holder duties.
  • 22.5 to 37 hours per week on a rota basis (full-time).
  • Locations: Staveley Healthy Living Centre and Queens Park Sports Centre.
