Our gym is packed with modern fitness equipment, and we offer a wide range of fitness classes, personal training and an exercise referral service. We also deliver amazing programmes and interventions for sport, including our excellent sport scholarship programme and Club Sport programme in partnership with the Student’s Union. Responsibilities
  • Duty Officers are responsible for the day‑to‑day running of the facility, working with members on reception, delivering classes, offering PT sessions and assisting with delivery of our social and student club sport offer.
  • Work within the Business Operations team, aligning with the strategic goals and direction of the department and the University’s overall vision.
  • Coordinate the delivery of a wide range of activities that a Higher Education sport facility provides.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience working in a sports facility environment, preferably with PT qualifications.
  • Some administrative experience and willingness to be part of a team delivering the many activities that a Higher Education sport facility provides.
  • Understanding of working in a Higher Education establishment is advantageous.
  • No line management duties; ability to show initiative and work autonomously when needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience communicating with the public.
Location & Working Arrangements

This role is predominantly based on site in Canterbury, working across our delivery sites, on and off campus.
