Spinal Injury Support Worker

Location: Cardiff
Salary: £17.50 per hour weeknight shifts, £17.25 per hour Saturdays, £18 per hour Sundays
Job Type: Zero-hour contract
Shifts: 8pm-8am, 7 days per week. Full time/part time hours available.

We also have sleeping night shifts available, 8pm-8am, 7 days per week, plus day shifts 8am-8pm, 7 days per week.

Role Overview:
We are offering an opportunity for experienced and dedicated Spinal Injury Support Workers to join our new client in Cardiff, working on a 2:1 ratio. One Support Worker will work a waking night shift, with a second team member on a sleeping night shift. To support their independence and lifestyle, we’re seeking support workers who are confident, empathetic, and capable of building a strong, trusting relationship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting)
  • Catheter Care & Bowel Management
  • Respiratory Management (cough assist/suctioning)
  • Autonomic Dysreflexia Management
  • Preparing meals and supporting with nutrition
  • Administering medication (training provided)
  • Providing emotional support and companionship
  • Supporting with mobility and physical activities
  • Light housekeeping duties

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience within a similar role, supporting clients with Spinal Injury, catheter care and bowel management
  • A caring and compassionate nature
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A valid UK driving licence essential to drive the WAV during shifts.
