This is an excellent opportunity to work as a Spinal Injury Support Worker for Libertatem Healthcare Group, providing personalized care and support to a client with complex needs due to a spinal injury. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, administering medication, providing emotional support, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care. The successful candidate will have experience working with individuals with complex needs, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.

Main duties of the job

The Spinal Injury Support Worker will be responsible for supporting and engaging with the client's personalized routines, including the use of hoists. They will assist with daily living activities, such as personal hygiene and mobility, administer medication, and monitor the client's health conditions. The role also involves providing emotional support and companionship, maintaining accurate records of care, and collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure the client's wellbeing.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting and engaging with personalized routines inclusive of hoists.
  • Completing daily living activities, including personal hygiene and mobility.
  • Administering medication and monitoring health conditions.
  • Providing emotional support and companionship.
  • Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any changes in clients’ conditions.
  • Collaborating with a range of healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.

Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for working with people and providing care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
  • Reliability, commitment, and flexibility.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in complex care.
  • To be able to deal with challenging behaviours.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
