West Yorkshire Police is looking to recruit a number of Speed Camera Enforcement Operators to join its Central Prosecution & Casualty Prevention Unit based in Bradford.

As an integral part of the Camera Enforcement team, you will work independently to enforce, working alone in a designated vehicle, using mobile speed recording equipment, vehicles which do not comply with the speed limits on the road network within the West Yorkshire Police area. You will also support the Judicial process by presenting expert evidence at Magistrates and Crown Court in relation to all areas of speed enforcement.

For information, you will be required to work unsupervised. The work pattern is 0600 to 1600 /1400 to 2200 on a 6 on/3 off basis. This includes weekend working, but no bank holiday working.

Relevant training will be given in the operating procedures relating to type approved speed detection devices linked to recording equipment, camera devices, and associated requirements. You must therefore possess a basic understanding of speed legislation and the Highway Code.
