Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time position in our department in Chelsea. This role involves assessment and management of patients with various oncology diagnoses, including head and neck cancer, gastrointestinal, and other tumour sites. The post holder will be responsible for establishing a new gastrointestinal pathway, complementing our existing head and neck cancer pathway. Skills in video fluoroscopy and FEES assessments are required, along with supporting junior colleagues and students.

We have a collaborative AHP team and offer excellent support, regular in-service training within SLT and the wider therapy team, journal clubs, and access to bespoke research.

Role Responsibilities
  • Provide a highly specialist clinical service for patients across the lifespan, from acute to palliative and terminal stages, with communication and swallowing disorders secondary to cancer and its treatment.
  • Lead on tracheostomy management within the Trust, developing protocols and programs, working closely with MDTs and liaising with other hospitals to ensure effective care pathways.
  • Develop and deliver teaching and training programs for professionals and staff as required.
