Job Description:

David Lewis is excited to offer a unique opportunity for a skilled Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) to join our well-established Speech and Language Therapy team.

David Lewis Clinical & Therapy Services provide support for people living in residential services and educational settings. We are dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, complex learning disorders, neurological impairments, and other complex needs. Our services support individuals aged 11 to end of life. With over 120 years of expertise, we are rated GOOD by the CQC.

Responsibilities:

• Assess individuals currently accessing our SLT services and new admissions.
• Deliver interventions for individuals with diverse and complex needs, with clinical supervision.
• Conduct specialist communication aid assessments and implement solutions.
• Provide Communication Profiles, AAC protocols, advice sheets, and Swallowing Care Plans (based on experience).
• Plan and deliver interventions collaboratively with individuals and families, considering capacity and the wider MDT.
• Deliver training to staff teams.
• Support therapy groups to enhance communication skills across the site.

Requirements:

• A recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification – ESSENTIAL.
• Current HCPC registration – ESSENTIAL.
• Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) – ESSENTIAL.
• Evidence of clinical supervision and CPD – ESSENTIAL.
• Experience in Learning Disability – DESIRABLE.
• Post-basic dysphagia qualification – DESIRABLE or willingness to pursue.
