Speech & Language Therapist

Full-time, permanent role

Salary: £35K - £50K depending on experience

Hours: Monday - Friday full-time

Location: Aylesbury

About the role:

Working in a private special school providing education and care for up to 176 young people with a primary diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) aged between 11-19.

The school are proud to have gained an Outstanding rating from Ofsted in September 2021 and to hold the National Autistic Society Advanced Accreditation.

Your main responsibilities as a Speech and Language Therapist:

  • Assessment, treatment and management of a wide range of language and communication difficulties
  • Develop SLT care plans, based on best practice via a range of direct and/or indirect models of delivery within an educational setting, evaluating the impact the individual, considering the barriers to activity and participation within the educational setting
  • Train education staff to incorporate specialist strategies and intervention . approaches into their practice and participate in monitoring the effectiveness of that training
  • Communicate complex condition related information from assessment to clients, carers, families and members of the multi-disciplinary team

What we are looking for in a Speech and Language Therapist:

  • HCPC Registered or pending registration if newly qualified
  • Experience, either life experience, placement or in post, working in relevant areas (e.g. learning disability, specialist school settings, mental health settings) will be of benefit
  • Demonstrating a passion for supporting individuals with these needs
