Job summary

Witherslack Group is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to join Cedar House School in Bentham. You’ll deliver targeted interventions to pupils, collaborate with multi-disciplinary colleagues and support residential staff to create therapeutic living and learning environments. A strong clinical development path and supervision are offered.

You’ll join a committed team focused on positive outcomes for young people with SEMH and complex needs, within a supportive, inclusive setting.

Qualifications

• Be a qualified Speech and Language Therapist registered with the HCPC.
• Be a specialist with proven skills and experience to engage and deliver therapeutic interventions with children and young people with complex needs.
• Need experience of supporting teams around a child or young person to ensure they are being provided with clinically informed living and learning environments and experiences.
• Be a confident, engaging and effective model, guide, leader and trainer.
• Be highly organised and ready to take the initiative.
• Be committed to ensuring the best outcomes for young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic interventions and engagement to pupils within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Support educational and residential colleagues to develop therapeutic living and learning environments.
• Contribute to a programme of clinical development and supervision.

This role is based at Cedar House School.

Cedar House School is an independent specialist day school providing high quality education for boys and girls. Based in Bentham, the school meets the needs of a diverse group of pupils exhibiting Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, alongside a range of other associated conditions.

Our clinicians are a crucial part of the most joined-up model in SEND. Across all of our specialist schools and children’s homes, we provide unrivalled levels of clinical support, both in terms of our expertise andbreadth of provision. Our young people present with a complexity of need including developmental trauma, neuro-developmental conditions and special educational needs.

As part of a multi-disciplinary clinical team you will be supporting educational and residential colleagues to provide therapeutic living and learning environments and, based on clinical assessment and formulation, offer individualised interventions and engagement to our young people.
