Job summary

Dawn House is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the Learning Support team. You will work closely with Teachers and Therapists to support pupils with speech and language needs, helping them reach their full potential in a warm, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• GCSE numeracy and literacy (Grade C or above).
• Passion for supporting children with complex needs.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude.
• Understanding of child development (training provided).
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting child welfare.

Responsibilities

• Provide learning support tailored to pupils’ speech and language needs.
• Contribute to lesson planning, assessments, and classroom preparation.
• Help manage and model positive behaviour to create a nurturing environment.
• Assist pupils in developing social and communication skills both in and outside the classroom.
• Support personal care needs and carry out therapy programs guided by therapists.
