Job summary

Prospero Teaching are seeking a dedicated Speech and Language Teaching Assistant Specialist to join a supportive education team in Dudley. You will work with pupils aged 5-16 with EHCPs and a range of communication and learning needs.

You will provide targeted support to develop communication skills, confidence and independence, alongside teachers, SEN staff and speech and language professionals. The role requires patience, resilience and the ability to build trusting relationships with

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with speech and language needs.
• Familiar with EHCPs and individualised learning plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted support to pupils with speech, language and communication needs, helping them develop communication skills, confidence and independence.
• Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff, speech and language professionals and other specialists to ensure consistent support.
• Support pupils with pre-verbal or non-speaking needs and those with selective mutism as part of EHCP outcomes.
